Exclamation My First Kill!! - SVX vs. Integra GSR

Ok so I'm coming back from a football game in San Jose. I take Automall Pkwy to see if I can get any races in. I pull up to the stoplight and this white integra with a coffee can exhaust pulls up next to me and starts revving. So I roll down my window and ask what he's got. He says its a 1997 GSR that he just picked up. "STOCK?" I asked and he says "except for exhaust, yea." So I smile inwardly, knowing that I got him . So the light turns (finally) and we both take off. In my SVX, i have a manual mode so I can shift 1-2-3-D at will, so at the light I brake-torque and take off. He gets a good start (he barely squealed) and I'm at his rear bumper through my first gear. I pull hard in second, catch him, and put maybe a car length between us. I shift into third, and put maybe another car length between us, and by fourth its over. We pull up to the next light and he looks kinda surprised, like the "Oh sh!t" look and we part ways. Not bad for my first kill, huh?

I doubt it, but it makes me feel like I'm more in control of the car....

auto's generally arnt made to shift for racing, so if you bitch shift it you can shift at a higher rpm than it will shift at Drive.

So generally you can squeese more out of it.

Nice kill.

You can get your automatic tunned to shift when you want. Saves you from having to manually shift in an automatic.

Depents on what tranny. If you want the TH350 tuned no prob, same with the AOD, but the SVX dosent have quite the common tranny. If its not electronically controlled you can fabricate your own parts and change the pressure to shift when you want, if its electronically controlled you would have to find someone who could reprogram it.

Ya. Believe Terminal over me

But i have seen some products on car shows like Two Guys Garage, Horsepower TV, and, probably more. They buy this little diagnostic/program thing. It's designed to make your engine get better hp and all that. They had a truck gain 90hp As well as over 100 on torque. They ran it on dyno before and after the program was installed. They said it was also possible to program when the tranny shifts. As well as diagnose the car and problems.

Now, It's suppose to be really safe, but you can only use the one you buy. You can't trade because the little device saves the stock program. So if there is a problem, you can reinstall it back to original program. I'm pretty sure you have to buy the ones that relate to your car. Takes like 10 minutes or so. It also doesn't give the same gain to every car. They did it on a mustang and it only got like 10-20hp. I think it just makes the car run more efficently as you get up in the RPM range. Who knows? I'm just had a pyschology test today and my mind feels like it got it's ass kicked so i only remember bits and peices of the show.

The only brand name that comes to my mind is Superchips. Probably more though. The superchip one was used for the truck but cost $300 I don't think it had a diagnostic option. But, look around if you think it might be a good investment Both shows gave them good reviews.

Yea I'm gonna get a whole new EMS when i get my 5 spd conversion and turbo put in.....

I'm j/k but I checked the superchip thing and they dont have an application for my car (SVX's arent very common) so I'm outa luck there....

Well, there is a way to modify your chip to get more power, there is an electronic silencer on it that if you "break" gives you around 15hp

There is a turbo kit which gives you around 35% more hp which is alot.

If your running stock air, TAKE OUT THE AIR SILENCER! your loosing serous power to it!.

and even AWD can break the tires loose
