Hello!
Got a newbie question. I have a buddy that can do brakes, and we tried to remove my rear rotors on my 97 GSX and could not get them off. We were able to replace the front’s fine by treading two bolts in the rotor itself to remove it, but there seems to be a different setup for the rears. Can somebody help me out by either explaining it or sending me to a web site that will help? I bought Chilton’s book, but it did not help. Thanks in advance! |

Release you're ebrake, theres little bitty drum brakes inside the rotors. Then proceed to beat the fuck out of them, try to beat evenly though.

Re: Help replacing rear rotors on a 1997 GSX
Don't beat the F' out of them, that's how you screw up your hub bearings. Try replacing those bearings & see how much easier it is to do the job correctly.
