I am new to the Max scene and out of all the highly modified max i saw i've only seen supercharged max but no Turbo max. I guess there's no turbo kit available for the max so prolly have to go custom. A supercharger would be nice but i read that the Vortech super V2 has a lot of flaws (i could be wrong). Does any1 here have a turbo maxima and if u do how much, what kinda power we're talking about.

There are a couple turbo maximas. Yes the kits are custom. I'm looking into setting up a t3/t4 turbo setup. If I'm successful I might sell the components as a kit with the fabricated parts.

I think the reason lots of people don't turbo their Maximas is also cause the compression ratio of the car is 10:1....which means you can only get about 9psi of boost or so...even so with just that small amount you'd be getting like 400hp....and a 400hp Max sounds pretty nice to me till I can save up enough money to lower the CR the RIGHT way..

CZAR this is for you

I have yet to meet anybody who has turboed their Maxima but I'm verrrrrrrrrrrrry interested cause that's what I wanna do to mine...(well when I get it). I'm wondering why more people haven't?? My AIM name is "Stomponyourlife" so please contact me about it. I'm curious as to what you spent, what kind of kit you had to fabricate and all that stuff. I also wanna know how the engine is doing...and of course I wanna know all about what a turbo Maxima can kill....!

I know that changing the head gasket to a different size will change the compression ratio. Is that the proper way? What are the other ways to change compression. Thanks

have you guys thought of running a alchoul injection kit you can turn the boost up higher because the alchoul will make the fuel burn better should be able to get anthour 3 psi easy

yeah same thing bad speeler. You take a bottle full of denatured alcohol and have it setup on boost control so when you hit a certain psi it begains to spary into your intake actual the bend right before you intake manifold. The alcohol makes the fuel burn colder but also gives your full a higher octane. Colder for a turbo is better. Basically you can run a higher boost without having to worry about pinging from your compression being to high.

turbos are better then superchargers in my opion superchargers take power to make power while a turbo uses power that would have just been wasted. One good thing on a super is its a much easier task to install then a turbo is.
