did the 95 rs have just one ecu box under the hood?

I'm having a heck of a time figuring this car out. I've looked at a few similar cars, but they all have 2 boxes by the fender well.

this is a 95 rs 5 speed. If you read my other post, I'm still not getting any spark after getting the ecu repaired.

any suggestions? I'm gonna check the crank sensor tomorrow and test it with an ohm meter.

Also, the resistance across the coil is 1.0 Ohms. The manual says it should be .5-.6. Is this a big deviation?

Ok , just to clarify , the only cars with 2 ECU's are the auto tranny cars. The tranny is completely computer controlled which necessitates the 2nd ECU.
Testing the CS with an ohmmeter may not give you any clues since its just basically an external Hall Effect Sensor. You might remove it and check for damage , unusual wear or loose connections , or parts. One quick way to test if the ECU is working properly , is to simply turn the ignition key on . The CE light should come on for a few seconds and then turn off. If it never comes on , then that indicates an ECU problem , or of course the light itself may be burnt out , but thats pretty unusual.

thank you thank you thank you

You just answered 2 questions for me.

Each car I've compared it to was an auto. Also, no CE light comes on. I'm starting to think the computer wasn't repaired properly.

Yep , or damaged in transit. Thats typical of UPS , but I don't know how it was sent. I think you should try to find one locally , through your local DSM club. Someone may have one for sale. Just go to DSM.org and find the nearest club.
