Thumbs down Jacques Villeneuve

It's never your fault, is it, Jacques? So your appauling qualifying lap yesterday, your spin today and then the way you smashed your front wing at the NGK chicane (Button did that 3 times, but all of them on Friday) is also someone else's fault? What a champion.

he just keeps making excuses...but goes back to the same car year after year, that failes him so much. Button is scoring points. Maybe minardi will give him a drive next year.

Winning at the Ring in 96 and 97 and now fighting with the Minardi's for last position, go figure!

JV's just pathetic... to think i used to be a big fan of the guy
i stopped making excuses for him at the start of this year following his appalling "war of words" with JB, which he so pathetically instigated... it just showed how worried he was about his new teammate...
he doesnt deserve a drive in a top car. i hope Button continues to destroy him

A spoiled brat! He thought he could make BAR "his" team and take them to the top, instead it's all blown up in his face and now he makes a fool of himself.

JV is a talented driver, but I think he got lucky by getting good equipment at CART and with his first ride at F-1. I give him just a couple more seasons before all the teams reject him. There is a lot of new talent out there.

He could use an image adjustment. JV seems to come off as a stuck up jerk half of the time. He might be a great guy away from the track, but the interviews at the track make him look bad. Sponsors like a drivers who win and who have winning personalities. JV is no longer winning and the personality is coming off as a real loser. I think his future is in the IRL.

I somewhat used to be a fan of F1 when he was doing good with the Williams Renault team, but I still think if he had a decent car and team to support him he would be doing just as good if not better when he raced with the Williams team.

if he was with the best team, was #1 driver and had a monkey as a teammate, and he murdered his freakin huge ego, i think he could do well in F1.

Are you guys insane? Didn't you see the save JV made when his car did a 360? he got back on the road ready to race, without a blink! He's a hardcore racer, in a bad car, he just got comfortable in the team, he's like a pig basking in the money, he lost some of his edge, and he has a new team mate that is trying to impress.

Maybe, but the way he is performing right now, he isn't exactly going to move up to a bigger, better team is he?

Few are questioning his driving ability. But why did he make that 360 in the first place? I just quoted him whigning how his poor results were not his fault, and then he does the race with Minardis spinning and losing his wing all due to his own mistakes.

There's a news that might interest JV or non JV fans alike.

http://www.espnstar.com/jsp/cda/form...ewsdetail.html

I dont really pay much attention to JV, U guys seem to know him better.

But based on the above, he sounds very negative whereas teammate Button is the opposite.

That is exactly true. His behavings always were in the way of getting into another top team. McLaren didn't want him because of his reputation. If he could act a bit more "normal" h would have been so much better for McLaren then DC. So when we look at his career in F1, he had 2 very good years with Williams and from there on it was

Why so much ill feeling against Jaques?

Why do you make it sound like he is making excuses? In that article he is saying nothing of the sort. Rather he is being realistic that his lack of results with BAR is affecting his chances of staying in F1. Pretty obvious conclusion to me.

A tip for people who read F1 news sites - take no notice of the headlines and only read the bits that are in quotation marks. F1-Live even print them in a nice blue for you. At no stage does Villeneuve blame the team for his situation. It is the shoddy journalist who wote that he blamed factory problems and BAR was damaging his reputation.

I like Jaques, he was fantastic in a Williams from '96 through '98. Unfortunately he has screwed his career in the same way Emerson Fittipaldi did in the mid to late seventies. That makes him an easy target, but he placed his friendships above an easy path to more success. He deserves some credit for that.
