SES light

got a 88 camaro w/a 350 TBI, it ran like crap and wouldn't idle so I got a code from the computer that said the O2 sensor was reading rich. I changed the O2 sensor and now it runs great, but the SES light still comes on, and says the O2 is reading lean. I reset the computer to wipe out any codes from the previous sensor but the light still comes on. Any ideas?
