Porsche 911 Tribute - 50 years anniversary AF Group Build
Hello modelers,
1963 - 2013, The famous and mythical Porsche 911 is 50 years old ! We propose that you celebrate this anniversary with a group build, collecting all 911 and derivative models (please see the list of possible entries below) visible on AF in the WIP or completed sections. What we expect is to offer modelers and visitors a huge gallery, with as many models and versions as possible matching the 911 theme, including all cars similar to, or born from the 911 spirit. We will collect the WIP build thread links and completed model links in one main thread, complete with pictures to create the biggest 911 gallery possible. You can submit a WIP or completed model link (please add [911 Tribute] in front of your thread title) Please note that we don't want this group build to be or become a complete Porsche tribute as some other models from the brand would deserve their own tribute (LM cars for example). So we have decided to concentrate on the following models: - 911, any year, any version (road, rally, tuning, LM...). - 901, 912, 930, 934, 935, 964, 991, 993, 996, 997. - 356 (as the birth of 911 spirit) - 959 and 961 as Gr. B racers derived from the 911. - Cayman and Boxster, as inspired by the 911 lines. - 911 GT1 road car or LM Cars we want to exclude from this 911 tribute are special or specific bodies, road cars or racers: 904, 908, 910, 914, 917, 956, 962. Also super-cars or special bodied cars such as the Panamera, Cayenne or the Carrera GT are to be excluded. Front engine models, 924 and 944, are also excluded. Finally, all Porsche prototypes (racers or not) or vehicles made from Porsche models, but which are not original Porsche vehicles are excluded from the 911 Tribute. If you think we missed something, or that something isn't appropriate to the 911 spirit that's expected, please submit your thoughts by PM to us, Paolo (lovegt40) or Phil (Rallymaster). Please also submit you WIP or completed thread links by PM. We will add you to the list of contributors. We won't refuse to set a yearly contest or election for the car of the year. But this will be discussed and debated with all the contributors during the year. Depending on everyone's wishes and expectations about this 911 tribute we will decide what it could be, or should be so as to please everyone. Thanks to everyone who joins this Tribute. I like the Tribute Build Phil, count me in. Since I already posted I was redoing my old 911 GT1 I guess I'll use that as my entry. Hopefully it will be a different version then indecents. David

Hi Guys,
thanks to you for joining our tribute. I've updated our terms and conditions to accept the GT1 LM or road car, which is fair as it's named 911 GT1. don't forget to send us by PM your link, or eventually post them here. I will compile them in the above post #2. What is nice is that we already have different versions, only one double.  this may be a great tribute, thanks to all !

In the next couple of weeks, I believe I will pull out one of my Fujimi kits and start. I'm not sure if I want to do one of the IROC or a rally car.

Okay, I'm in with Arii's 911 Turbo kit.
