MIL - Sebring LX 2003

When returning to parking lot after shopping I started the car and notice the MIL amber light was on. I drove the car to my residence and restarted car without difficulty, light still on. On day this happended it rained heavily at times and thls was a Saturday. I made an appointment at my garage to have the car checked on Monday. When I turned the ignition on the engine ran very rough and did so on several more attempts.

It was necessary for me to have the car towed to the garage. Mechanic performed scan and while pulling (?) the EVAP Trouble Control the car started half way through the check and ran smoothly. Mechanic took car for a drive and restarted car several times with success.

I was told all was OK and that the cause of the MIL coming on may have been due as result of heavy rain. This may have made for condensation under the hood.

The MIL remains on and I was told not to worry about this and I am wondering why the MIL was not reset.

Car continues to start without a problem, runs smooth.

What is your assessment?
