Re: Ford explorer 2003 4.0L Almost stalls (video)

DTC P0301, info was pulled from AF-Chat

1) Compression test on cylinder 1.
2) Roll plug + wire to a known good cylinder.
3) Roll the injector from cylinder 1 to a known good cylinder.
4) Use a known good coil pack.

Are there any more DTC's?
If the Intake was replaced, I would consider a smoke test, www.youtube.com/watch?v=FfiQ7qWiG-M

Re: Ford explorer 2003 4.0L Almost stalls (video)

Start with the suggestions above. It definitely sounds like at least one cylinder is not firing. Since it doesn't seem to come out of the issue at higher rpms the problem is not likely just a loose spark plug wire, so starting with swapping the cylinder #1 plug with, say, cylinder #5 and the cylinder #1 spark plug wire with cylinder #4 should tell you quite a bit in a hurry.

For your reference, as you're standing in the video, cylinder #1 will be on the left (passenger side) nearest the serpentine drive belt. The cylinders are numbered toward the firewall, 1, 2, and 3. On the right (driver's side) the cylinder nearest the serpentine drive belt will be number 4, followed by 5 and 6 as you move toward the firewall.

It must of been fixed during CHAT!

I wish nandox5 would do another video with his truck running right.
