2005 Grand Cherokee 4.7 stalls randomly
I have a 2005 GC Limited with the 4.7 V8 that has recently had some stalling issues. Today it stalled on me in the driving on the first start of the day. I backed up to the bottom of the driveway to move another car out. I left the Jeep running, moved the other car, got back into Jeep, put it in drive and as soon as I hit the gas, it shut off. It didn't sputter or run rough but acted like someone had basically turned the key off. It started right back up, however, and ran perfectly fine.
Another instance this happened was when I was at a stop sign. I came to a complete stop, hit the gas, and the Jeep shut off (again, like someone had turned the key off). This doesn't happen all the time, but this is the second time this has happened in a matter of two months. Is it possible that there is a bad torque converter? The Jeep does run flawlessly and has plenty of power and good fuel economy (about 14mpg city, 21 mpg highway). It has almost 74,000 miles on it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Any check engine lights? How many miles? It could be any number of things....a crank sensor, vacuum leak, idle air control.
