Re: AC fan only working on highest setting

It sounds like the relay has gone bad. I believe it is underneath the passenger side dash board. I think u can access it from underneath.

Re: AC fan only working on highest setting

Replace your blower motor resistor - the high speed relay is part of that module- follow purple wire backwards from blower motor to find the module.

Re: AC fan only working on highest setting

just a tip, if it is the blower resistor (which I agree is the problem) the back two screws that hold it in only need to be loosened (not totally removed). They are hard to reach and this will make replacement much easier. Also, removing the blower motor (it's held in by only 3 screws) will make access to the resistor much simpler.

Re: AC fan only working on highest setting

a 2000 GP is highly susceptible to the famous water deflector coming loose. Water can ruin the blower resistor and blower motor- from air intake that the deflector has dropped off-- check under air inlet cowl for rubber deflector to be unglued and fallen down on top of blower motor air inlet.

Do you ever see water on passenger floor after a rain?
