quick revell/monogram '67 corvette question
ok, as the title says, a quick question.
I am after a '67 Corvette kit but am little confused about the scale of the kit. I've seen older issues of the kit listed as scale 1:25 but occasionally, I see it boxed as 1:24. This is true of both the coupe and the roadster. Would I be right is saying that the kit is 1:24 and it's Revell/Monogram being loose with the truth like they were with the Jaguar kit I built? Would I also be right in saying that if I want a 1:24 C2 Corvette, it'd have to be the Accurate Miniatures Grand Sport or is this one incorrectly scaled/labled too?

Re: quick revell/monogram '67 corvette question
I haven`t seen them labeled as 1:24, but I guess it would be possible. I am pretty sure the `65 kit is 1/24, and is from a different mold. I wonder if it was ever converted to a `67? Can you find a picture of the box? I did a quick Google search but couldn`t find anything.

Re: quick revell/monogram '67 corvette question
oops typo:
what i meant was Quote:
i should also add that the model year doesn't matter that much to me as I'm after a 1:24 C2 Coupe, split screen or not. I had a rummage around and these are what I found. listed as 1:25 snap-tite ![]() regular ![]() listed as 1:24 ![]() ![]() ahh.... and I've just noticed that the 1:24 cars are said to be '65 models. Does this mean it really is a different kit at 1:24 to the '67 kit at 1:25?

Re: quick revell/monogram '67 corvette question
Quote:
The Revell '63's and '67's are 1/25 scale; the '63's are curbside snap kits, the '67's are full detail glue kits. There is no commonality between these Revell Corvettes and the Monogram Corvettes. The '65 coupe kit (red car on Monogram box) is a nice kit, and it's definitely a bigger body than the '63 & '67 kits. If you must have 1/24, that's the one to get, or the Penske racer.

Re: quick revell/monogram '67 corvette question
This is my take on the '65 Street Machine shown above (aka, the 'Black Rat' version.) One of my favorite kits.

Re: quick revell/monogram '67 corvette question
Just for clarification... The Penske Corvette is not simply the Monogram '65 with racing decals, but has been retooled with a new interior, slight modifications to the body and the exhaust system. You can not build a stock Corvette from this kit anymore.
