1/12 `67 Corvette 427 now finished! It will never end!
Yeah, I must be driving everyone crazy with these. Needless to say, I don`t really need the instruction sheet for this one anymore.
![]() ![]() Anyway, lots of reference pictures, lots of Dupli color...yada yada. This one is actually a build for a customer who has a real one of these. From the start, I had a problem since there is no red stinger stripe decal available, so I actually had to mask that off. It took alot of work to get the lines perfectly crisp and straight. Getting the rims in the tires was also fun, as the tires` openings were just a little small. Again, this one is pretty well detailed, with scratchbuilt parts, lables on chassis components, chassis chalk markings, and wire and hose "text". The customer will be visiting this board, so feel free to give your honest opinions. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The owner of the real car was kind enough to provide these pics and allow me to post them on this board for comparison. Pics of the REAL 1:1 car: ![]() ![]() ![]()

Jaw Dropping Drool Accumulating Chunk of Beautifulness!! But any pics possible from the chassis, since you put in a lot of work in that as well, according to your text.
Maybe a pic (or more) of the Real Thing to compare which one is more beautiful? ![]() Keep it up! Stefan |

Looks great, super clean! What rubbing compound did you use, as it is really shiny.

Could this be any more realistic? Amazingly beautiful model with a shine to match. I hope you never get tired of building these Corvettes.

Here are the only 2 pictures I have of the chassis. I`ll ask the owner if he minds me uploading pictures of his car to AF. I have seen his car, and it is pristine though, so it will probably top the model. ![]() ![]() ![]() Quote:

Re: 1/12 `67 Corvette 427 now finished! It will never end!
Just delicious!!! The blue one will be sweet. Just to be clear(!) - did you use duplicolor clear over tamiya colors, or is it tamiya clear over duplicolor, or what?

Thanks! I do wet sand the color coats, but only after all of the color coats have been applied, just before the clear coat. I usually use atleast 5 coats of clear (sometimes more than 10) and usually let it cure atleast a month. This combination has really worked for me. Guys, I will try to build something different in this coming year. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
