Revell/Monogram vs Revell AG/Germany

What is the difference between these 2 companies? I always see plain ole Revell at the stores but never Revell AG/Germany. More specifically I wanted to know if there was a difference between http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXECU4&P=W and http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXDXE1&P=W

I think revell germany make better quality models compared to revell/monogram. I've never built a revell germany kit though.

That is not the case. Revell USA always gets lumped behind any other company for unknow reasons.

Revell Germany kits have historically been of lesser quality than Revell USA. I know, I've seen them, I've built them. Only the last few years where they sourced new kits from China, and not from several sketchy manufacturers in Europe (Revell Germany didn't make their own in their own factory, they farm them out) were the quality of their kits (Enzo/Scaglietti) up to par w/Revell USA.

Revell Germany boxes...ugh. All the contents must slide out of the end of the box.

Revell Germany and Revell USA will share models, so if it's in one box or another it's likely the same kit, so you might be getting a Revell USA or Revell Germany kit inside. The only difference will be the box and the price. There is only one Revell Enzo, so get whichever one is cheaper.

i've got both Revell Monogram and Revell AG kits. Revell Monogram has better boxes for sure, and Revell Monogram appear to be more detailed.

I've seen Revell Monogram and Revell AG C5R kits. They are the same, just in different boxes. Revell Monogram do tend to release 1/25 and Revell AG 1/24 and Revell AG release a lot of F1 1/24 kits, the only kit company other then resin compaines to be releasing a steady amount og F1 kits.

Overall I'd say Revell Monogam for US Muscles and Revell AG for F1. Ferrari Enzo buy the Tamiya if money is not a problem, or otherwise either will be fine, as they are both one of the same..

Re: Revell/Monogram vs Revell AG/Germany

Most of the kits are the same. Either Revell US, or Revell AG, make a kit, release it, then let either company reissue it. They are the same kit. Sometims we are lucky, and get the Revell AG kits after they have gone though the foreign sales. Too bad we never got the BMW M Coupe Revell germany uses other companies' kits sometimes it seems. So their quality seems better. But how can you judge their products if they are only selling other companies models? lol....Get the US Revell Enzo. Same kit, same parts, cheaper.

Because Revell Germany got Dragon to do the M Coupe for them (and it was a one-shot deal), it was never even sold under the Dragon name. Same w/the Reiger tuning BMW coupe. Neat models, I have both...but Dragon's cars are nothing to write home about either...most Revell USA kits are superior.
