Gas milage comparison

Some of the best and worst.

http://money.cnn.com/pf/features/lists/gasmileage/

How about that correlation between engine size/hp and gas mileage. Who'd a thunk it

Who would have thought that bigger engines also pollute more? (well I did, I've been defending my 356cc Subaru for years with this argument)
fuel economy.gov
It's weird to see that my 1988 Yugo pollutes less per year than a brand new caddy.
Yugo Caddy Escalade
Yet another reason the escalade just sucks.

I disagree about the Escalade sucking. I'd much rather be in one of those then a Yugo of any flavor.

No really it does suck, literally it sucks - sucks down the gas that is. When one drives by, you can almost hear the gas gurgling out of the tank - what a useless piece of crap, I think I'll keep my enviro-friendly Yugo. Easier on gas, easier to wash, easier to park - in fact it just makes the Escalade and most other large SUVs look more and more lame & useless.

The rear seats fold down, and you could get a roof rack if you really want to demonstrate the little car's powers of haulage.

The problem with those numbers is they're not 100% accurate and they're based on the manufacturers suggested mpg which seems to always be underated. My dad has an '02 Chevy Tahoe(equivelant to the GMC Denali) and it was rated the same as the Denali but he gets a constant 17-20 mpg depending on how much highway/city driving he does.

I know the only car to ever go off the Macinac bridge here was a Yugo. I know I don't fit into one. I know I can't fit more then a set of golf clubs into one. I also know that older cars are less "enviromentally friendly" then newer ones because of the natural deterioration. The Escalade is a nice looking vehicle in my opinion. You opinion differs, but as to your other reasons, they have no bearing on me.

The lame and useless is funny. I can buy "lame" because thats your opinion. The useless is clearly mistaken. If you have large loads to carry (people or stuff) and want to keep it dry, then the SUV is a good choice.

For anyone not familiar with it - its the worlds largest or second largest suspension bridge in the world. (can't remember for sure where it sits, but the spans are larger then the Golden Gate). Its the bridge few people outside of Michigan know about.
