Got my Turboed ZC to the Track

Ok this past weekend I was out at the track with my 90 CRX Si with a ZC Turboed.
Unfortunately there were a few things wrong with it. For one there is a leak in the exhause manifold and I think there is one else where to. Because of the leaks (I assume) I couldn't boost over 4psi. I had borrowed a boost controller and havign it set to maximum boost I got it bumped to 5psi. I only had the boost controller for the first day and my best run was on the second day. This was the first time I had ever been to the track. We were running a .400 Pro Tree
Here are two slips.

This is my first run ever:

R/T: 1.120 (totally unprepared)
60: 2.778
330: 7.290
1/8: 10.768
MPH: 73.66
1000: 13.622
1/4: 16.050
MPH: 93.27

This was my best run:

R/T: .840 (still sleeping)
60: 2.391
330: 6.488
1/8: 9.913
MPH: 70.31
1000: 12.896
1/4: 15.377
MPH: 91.31

Now I not exaclty certain on the elevation but I was told the correction is .4 so if that is true then I guess I technically ran a 14.9. Also it was 35 deg Celcius out, not sure on farheinheit. My main problem is hooking up and actually getting moving. I was always getting wheel hop (chattering) at the beginning and my RPMs would like drop to 2000 and it take me forever to climb out cause I don't have any pwer until like 5500. My best run I dropped th clutch at 6000 it hopped a little but then the tires slipped and spun for while and i kept my rpms up. I think I could have pulled a little better ET maybe a 15.0ish but I dunno that is what a some ppl were saying with my MPH i should have been pulling better.

SO what do you guys think?

NSX-R-SSJ20K, I was wondering if you or anyone else know where I can look at products Top Secret produce? I have seen one of their cars and it was more than impressive.

This definately sounds like you're bogging. You can try to counter this by upping your lauch revs. If you're launching at 4k now(random example), try launching around 5k, or 4500. However, when you do this you will most likely find that you spin the tires a lot. There's not much you can do about this. New/better tires maybe. Unless you can get things just perfect, it's usually a trade-off. Either you bog the engine or you spin the tires. In my opinion I think that spinning is better and gives better times, but I don't really know. Either way, you have to work on getting your 60' down if you really want to cut your times. Good job anyways, though!

Try doing what Self said.
However, I've found another technique that also works, but takes LOTSA practice.

Here's what you'd do:
Launch at the RPM you started off launching at (the one that caused your car to BOG)
Instead of revving the engine up to whatever RPM you launch at and then dumping the clutch, try letting off the clutch so that it engages and you start moving. However, at the same time, keep a little "slack" in the clutch so that its grabbing yet still slipping a tad. This will keep your revs up so you dont bog.

Again, it takes LOTS of practice....!

One of my friends suggested that...I tried but I ended up dumping it anyways cause there is so little play with my clutch

You're 60' times aren't terribly good, MMRUSA.com sells a front crossmember for our cars that's supposed to knock off two or three tenths from your 60'. With good tires/clutch I can knock off 2.0's with very little wheelspin. Last night I had crappy tires and a slipping clutch and I managed very consistent 2.3's.

Damn.
I bet you guys would kill for the 60' time of a RWD car like mine.
1.57 60' time on a DRAG RADIAL.
Low 1.5s on a ET Street.

God Bless weight transfer.
