Largest Scale For Model Cars

Friend of mine is looking to do something bigger than 1/12th scale. I'm not sure if there are any bigger cars. And i've been to HLJ and Tower Hobbies. Can anyone help me out?

Re: Largest Scale For Model Cars

I think the "Big Deuce" is the only bigger kit currently in production.
There have been a few 1/8th scale cars released, and you should be able to find a Z-28 or Vette on E-bay.
Then there's the Pocher cars...
You can find the Pocher Porsche 911 for a couple of hundred bucks.

Re: Largest Scale For Model Cars

Ebay search for 1/8 models

some examples:

Jaguar E-type
Trans AM
Corvettes
Hot-rods
Some vintage model (Mercedes, Alfas etc..)
and the Pocher Porsche's and Ferrari's

So there are a few models to choose from but they often cost 100$+++. The cheapest are the hot-rods wich sell for about 70-80$ and the most expensive are the Pocher Ferrari's wich sell for abour 500$++ The Ferrari F40 engine trans-kit costs alone 150$

Re: Largest Scale For Model Cars

There are some 1:1 model kits. Curbside baby!! Can be found at most junkyards

Seriously, the bigger the kit, the more money. But not always more detail. But yea, just search EBAY for stuff. Try all different scales in the search. Pocher mmmm!!$$$$$$

Most of the Pocher kits that I've seen on eBay (the prewar Bugatti & Mercedes) have been fetching about $1000 & one even reached $1500!!

Pocher kits are awesome with a little work. There is a possibility some of them may be re-released I heard?? Anybody know?

Re: Largest Scale For Model Cars

Don't know much about them, but I've read that the earlier ones were much more detailed, and that later releases (even of the early ones) weren't as good. If they re-release them, I hope that it's to the early standard ie fully spoked wire wheels, working engine / differential internals etc!

Makes sense as iirc, there is a very good German website that has loads of Pocher info & instructions / build / reference data (may even provide parts backup). If they do relaunch, here's hoping they aren't too expensive as I'd love a 1:8 Bugatti T50 (to go with my 1:24 Heller one) or perhaps one of the Rolls-Royces!

Re: Largest Scale For Model Cars

The biggest kit I know of is a 1/4, but that is just engine. The largest complete kit I have seen is 1/6 but it was a motorcycle, the biggest car kit I've seen is 1/8 scale.

Check with the guys at www.largescalemodeler.com/forum they might be able to help.

Re: Largest Scale For Model Cars

Many 1/8

Biggest I have seen is 1/4 (F1)
and there is some 1/1, like the Caterham Seven that come in a box

Re: Largest Scale For Model Cars

Look for the Revell Jaguar e-type, its fairly cheap and in 1/8 scale.
