update on the 240

after 9 hours driving there and 10.5 hours driving back (got lost...), the 240 is mine.

it has: bad timing, bad spark plugs, exhaust leak, turbo gasket leak (and no bolts holding turbo pipe in), cracked dash, bad dash (big crack couple small cracks), stinky and very very dirty interior, ripped seats, dirty smic, front honda lugs, body dents, chipping paint, leaking taillights, and is running rich.

of course that asshole who sold it to me didn't tell me any of this


what im doing:
already cleaned and gutted out rear. buying s14 seats from nearby sr20 neighbor who just swapped in recaros. looking for good black dash from junkyard. popped in an air freshner and vented out the car. i put weatherstripping above the taillights (that should stop the leaking). i already ordered gaskets and spark plugs from phase2motortrend and am getting the timing adjusted by kin at the local sr shop (if not by myself). it does have a very awesome non-streetable nismo 8 puck clutch (woohoo!! its like pushing in a brick thats glued down by nails!), but it is pretty cool. also has a very good short shifter. i swapped out my 16" chromes and bald tires and $100 for some 91 se wheels and brand new tires from a friend, they're already on. had a bitch of a time with those damn honda lugs that were on the front (why???). im stopping by northcoast nissan to get some touchup paint them i have to spend a few hours again stripped off all the black tape around the body, and the pinstripes. it does have kouki lights and those are completely awesome. im leaving the body fairly stock after i clean it up, if i ever decide to get a body kit (they are getting so cheap now, and you know me, the body kit would have to be really really subtle) i'll fix those dings and paint the whole body (prolly same color, the red is growing on me). i already ordered an hks sequential bov (yea yea i know its quiet but im looking for a blitz one soon anyways) and in the near future im getting probably a greddy fmic. the damn thing should scoot. right after i came home at 3am my buddy hopped in and raced his friends modded tiburon gt that runs a 14.7. from a launch we got about 2 car lengths on him 0-30, and from a roll we gained half car length all the way up to about 100. and this is all with an open differential and all the problems above, so we're guessing it runs about a 14.5 now. it should be 13.8-13.9 with all mods and running good. motor is completely stock. once i get the fmic im looking at a 12.9-13.0. i just cant wait until all problems are fixed. the thing is a beast. kin will really tune this thing up, he just built a 270hp s14 for the guy im getting the seats from.

wish me luck! big project but i think i can take it. really won't cost more than $1000 for everything i want to do.

i can get the max in 12s but it'd cost 4 grand. i can get the 240 in 12's with 1 grand.

the point that moved me back the most was the low seat and rwd. i cant stand not being able to launch good on fwd.

For real. FWD was just not meant for racing and especially not for drag.

thanks all. car is running mid 14s now and is very badly tuned... once i get this thing tuned and maintenance has been performed i think i can hit a 13.9 on smic.

fmic is going in this weekend or next week... it all depends on when my friend is available to help me do it. can't wait.

I am just curious, does that have an sr20 or a different motor already then stock or does it have a turbo on the stock engine? cause it has been confusing me why you would get a bov on a stock engine...so i assume what i did.
