Outstanding.......I don't know what else to say. To pack 1/12 scale detailing and cleanliness into a 1/20 scale package is just amazing. Congrats on finishing it up. All the work and sacrifice paid off.
I only hope you'll do it all over again on another F1 car!

Amazing work. This should be in a magazine. Maybe you should contact F1 Modeling about a write up on your model.

Good stuff. I've been waiting for this day for quite some time. It might seem a bit selfish, but you need to get back to the MP4/4 now. Please take your time. I can wait a day or two for the next update.

Bravo. Really amazing. Not only the car, but the online WIP is also great. Doing these wips with such great pics and descriptions of all the steps takes a lot of work. Thank you also for that.
Now, isn't there a McLaren sitting around with some unfinished brakes somewhere? :)

A journey to say the least. what a work of art.
Are you planning to take more finished pics and post them in the finished area? I would love to see some more finished pics.
What a great show this has been.

Everyone, thank you very much for your comments.
As i said before i think, they are a great motivation to keep going on a project. So i can only encourage you to also do a WIP. It will inevitably make your model better because you will always try to push a bit more than you'd do just working by yourself in your closet. I ended up doing quite a few things on this build, that i never thought of at the beginning :-)
I will take some more gallery shots and post them, but that may take a bit because i need to do something about lighting for that and before Xmas time is gonna be scarce.
The next thing i'll build will most probably be a curbside 1:43 Tameo that i started in summer. Nothing big, just a relatively quick build for a change.
Then there's more stuff sitting around to finish. A Cayman that should have been done already and also a McLaren...:-)

As with the others, I too have been following this WIP (although more as a lurker on the German modellboard forum where this WIP is also posted).
What a work of art.
Every new update I am astonished at all the stuff you've been able to cram into this build.
This really is the most realistic model I've ever seen. Period.

You are a extraordinary model builder!!. You should contact Tamiya and show them how to make detail parts for perfectionist modelers like yourself.
I started a MP4/4 some years ago then stopped. I have the rear wing, roll bar and cowling to do. I stopped because I don't want to ruin the cowling when i paint it with the colours as dust will land on it and i won't like the finish. I'm still a novice in building kits and haven't done one in years but i keep thinking about finishing this kit.
How do you keep dust away when you paint large surfaces? Where do you do your painting, e.g garage, room?
What kind of tape do you use for perfect dividing lines?
