interior lights will not go off

after removing passenger side mirror and waiting on new one to arrive via fedex. the interior lights will not go off. have to loosen neg. side of battery. need it to drive to work. what's the problem?, thanks...97 blazer2wd

If you still have the door panel off the door jamb switch on the dash side will not push all the way in to turn the lamp off. If you have the trim panel back on then you may have a faulty door jamb switch.

thank you, John. i still have the panel off. didn't think of that. will shim it up with some tape layers until the new one arrives. have a good day, rjt

No problem, I did the same thing myself once, only I did not notice the dome light was still on and left it that way overnight and ran my battery down.

Good luck with your mirror replacement.

thanks again, looked @ the dome light. its off.. there is a lot of space between the switch & door. was able to just close off the switch using a little slit space on the lower part of the dash and pushing a scraper in it. SOMETIME U HAVE TO IMPROVISE....rjt
