Larger throttle body & intake manifold
Theoretically what would be the gains from a 70mm throttle body along with a port and polished intake manifold which has been port matched to the 70mm throttle body. I take it the ECU would need to be remapped, but would I need larger injectors? If so what would be my options/price.
Any problems I could possibly encounter? Also would this put me in good stead for a possible turbo application in the future. Any advise appreciated. Thanks!

in the best case scenario, i'd say you'll get about 10hp from the throttle body

Thats too big. U'll lose torque. I'd go with 64-66 mm.

your car will learn and adjust to the new amount of air going into the engine

It will do more harm then good, if other stuff is not done first. What have you done to the head? Vavle job? P&P on intake and exaust, header, exhaust?
If you dont work on those things first, you wont gain anything. |

Thanks for the replies, so far I have a HKS header, induction, custom exhaust and Hondata chip. I’ve been told the car will adjust to a certain point but not that much. As I have a Hondata chip re-mapping isn’t a problem, but would I need larger injectors?
The throttle body comes with a port and polished intake manifold to match. Didn’t realise about the loss in torque though.

How the hell are you going to lose torque?! Do people even know how HP is made?! Geeze.
![]() IM and TB would be a good next step, then it would probably be a good idea to get a cam.. You shouldn't need bigger injectors, your car really shouldn't be demanding that much more fuel just from basic bolt ons.

I've been told that the injectors run almost flat out at peak power on a stock SiR, there isn't much headroom (and winding the fuel pressure up is a bit of a bodge).

see waht more air does is it keeps the torque up at higher rpm instead of going down. so with the torque leveling off, and not dropping, u get an incease in hp up high
