I think 11.5 is more like it...Reason I asked is I almost ran out of gas and the needle on my fuel gauge still had 1 line above "E". I'm watching my odometer from now on just in case (kmh). It happened a couple of days ago as I was exiting the Bay Bridge...Can you imagine if I broke down on the bridge...OMG, those freakin big ass tow trucks will push my car off and level my jdm bumpers with no metal brackets...

Anybody swapped out Accord tank?

I'd agree with that figure of 11.9 gallons.
There's actually a little gas left in the tank PAST the 'E', since those good, conservative engineers at Honda knew irresponsible Americans would think, "I'm not going to run out of gas! I'M special!"
Once you get to the 'E', I think you should still have a gallon and a half or so, but that's still worrisome, since you need some to slosh around. If you're on a steep hill, or the car is leaning sideways, you could run out, which is a total pain in the ass if you have fuel injection (and all of us do).
I'd like to swap out tanks, and get the Accord tank in there. It's got 15 gallons (I think).
Anybody done this?

Actually i know it's 11.9 cause like i said b4 i still have the original owners manual & it says 11.9gals.... plus the time i almost ran out & had to put in 11.5 my fuel pump started buzzing & i was still able to turn around & cruz back to the gas station..

Sounds like ur gas gauge is way off cause when my car is on empty i still have 1.5 gals left... which is usually the standard amount left in most cars from the factory.

Oh yeah.... & here's proof...specs for gas 3-3
