91 GT-S Hole in gas tank, can't find tank.. help

Hey,

I own a 91 GT-S and upon filling it up to full, i realized after parking for a while that there was a puddle of gas on the passanger side. A fairly large puddle it leaks till about 3/4's then stops

Now, i've called all around my city and Canadian tire as well as NAPA auto parts and they all have "no data" on it, as in, they don't make it anymore.

I may luck out cause there is one 91 that is being taken to the junk tomorrow and i'm hoping it's tank is good to go, but incase it's not do any of you guys know of a company that makes one or of another tank that will fit?

it could try plugging it up untill you find a nice replacement. There are a lot of products that you could find, just go to a local auto shop and tell them your situation.

Ya, i'm considering taking it out and just taking it to get repaired. Thanks though Apparently there's only 4 new gas tanks for my car in all of North America. None near me

Re: 91 GT-S Hole in gas tank, can't find tank.. help

I got a gas tank welded once. All we had to do was take out the tank, drain the gas and then blow steam into it for a couple of hours. We put some fluorescent penetrating oil in it and found the leak with a black light and then welded the leak with a small bead. Cleaned it out well and it worked fine.

Caution - welding with any gas fumes at all in the tank is a bad idea.
