sounds like ya floated your valves or came close to seazing your motor. DX motor im assuming there are not meant to go over like 6 grand and not for any period of time. Do it again and you may end up with a new motor. What I mean when I say floating your valves the d15 heads have a big problem with the seats in them and if you spin the motor over like 6 grand the valves float and suck oil from the seats thus causing lots of blue smoke from the oil burning.

I rewrote it look up. Oh floating is when the cam goes around faster than the valves can open and close basiclly leaving them open most of the time and making alot of noise usually.

DONT OVER REV.

FIX: change the valve springs and seats....or have the head redone hmm new motor with new parts best thing

my d15 was shitted when i got it. oil rings were fried and it smoked VERY badly. Its not like hitting the rev limit once in a while will totally fuck your engine up; the rev limiter serves a purpose: so you dont over-rev your engine. It seems to me that if your valve train couln't handle a certain rpm, then the good folks at honda would've lowered the rev limit to compensate. that's not saying that its okay to live at 6700rpm either hehe
