Hit rev-limiter! dmg?

Well today I was passing a gramps in his little hyundai going 45 in a 60,when a vet turned onto the road and started giving it shit right towards me.anyways I floored it in second gear to make the pass and hit my 6500rpm revlimiter (in my 96 VR6). I held it there for a few seconds as shifting would have resulted in a crash. Just wondering if I should worry about engine damage? The VR run's good as it always has but I feel shitty for beating it
