highway racing?
i own a 99 Eclipse GSX, and I heard Supras are fast on the highway, i can top my GSX topspeed at 171 mph on like a 3-5 mile road?? What other cars are fast on the highway?

With my gearing I should top out at 170
Because of my limiter I stop at 120 DAMN YOU FORD!

i agree...
what did you do to get 171 top speed? and how did you prove it? those cars stock will maybe go 150... 171 is outta the question without mods... consider the thread below before you reply... http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/t82829.html |

171?? Right, like they all said...What the hell kind of mods do you have? I'd be surprised if I see a turbo Eclipse reach even 150mph personally.

Perhaps it was a typo and missed the "3" button and hit the "7" instead.. hahahahhahahhahaha

he probably talked to harry after he read my post... i dunno though, this kid's probably a novice lead foot... and novice drivers don't use naws... even if he does get two bottles, the big ones... tonight... |

my GSX??
its not stock, i modified it with a 18g turbo, Blitz blow-off, HKS Turbo Timer, clutch, air intake, etc... i did top it off at 171, i also worked on the clutch too get it to go 171, it took me almost 1 minute to get to 171!

Just curious how you knew you where going that fast? The speedometers dont go that high do they? Go back it up with a radar reading or GPS reading. Just a bit suprised you didnt flip into the air at that speed.

haha
this is funny stuff... considering the gearing in the car, you'd have to have a pretty built motor to hit that kind of speed with the aerodynamics you've got.. and considering the people i know with dsm's around here, you'll need 300+hp... interesting that you mention the turbo timer as a mod. it's not. no mention of exh... no mention of a changed rev limit. no mention of built motor. no fmic. hmm... once you've got those things, like the rebuilt motor and fmic and a bigger than 18g turbo (like a t3/t4 setup or a 20g) and some more electronics in there... then you'll need that "clutch" you've got... no downpipe mentioned, no suspension upgrades mentioned... no fueling upgrade mentioned... to pull that kind of number out and say you went that fast, and then list what amounts to nothing for mods... give us the full list... or admit you're lying...

This post goes to show that people don't think logicaly before just blerting out some nonsense - 171 mph in this make believe car = nonsense
