Relocating Antenna
Okay, I browsed through the thread topics, and I didn't spot anything quite like what I want to know...
My antenna was broken off about a year ago by a suicidal rabid deer. Some of you probably remember. I want to relocate my antenna to my roof, somewhat akin to how the Passat and New Beetle have theirs at the rear of the passenger cabin. Has anyone ever tried this kind of thing? I am confidant that I can do it ability-wise, but with the sunroof in the front, I didn't know if I'd be able to access the "ceiling" space to get the wires over if I drilled a new hole. Ideas? Comments?

Suggestion: don't put it on the roof. Glue it to the rear window, something likethis only with a different antenna. Benefits: looks better and no needless hole in the roof
![]() As for running the cable, I personally would run it from the rear. I.e. from more or less it's position on the original antenna on the rear fender. I would expect there to be room in the pillar of the rear window, and after that just run it to the centre or the top side of the window and you're done. Alex
