To have an antenna, or not to have an antenna that is the question.
I was checking out my eclipse rs today and the stock antenna seems SOOO huge and out of place. I have been doing some research and was wondering what is the best hidden antenna to buy. I was thinking about buying that 13 inch tall euro style antenna off of ebay, but I kinda want no antenna at all (I would like the antenna to be completely gone). So then I was thinking about getting one of those "BMW-style shark fin type thingys, that sit on top of the roof in the middle, they look pretty sweet. Or maybe even one of those hidden antennas that run along the windshield? What antenna would bring the best reception?? Thanks all input is wanted!! P.S. If I was to remove the antenna completly, what would i need to patch up that whole? THANKS!

Re: To have an antenna, or not to have an antenna...
If you sat the antenna on top of the car, it would have to be rewired, that would be a pain in the ass. I say leave it the way it is lol.
Do you honestly look at your antenna that often?

Re: To have an antenna, or not to have an antenna...
I replaced my antenna with a short euro one and I had the radio on while I was swapping it out to see how much the quality would change. To my surprise, I lost no quality while NO antenna was connected. So, I suppose you could remove it completely if you have the same luck that I had.
If you do remove it, you will need to weld a patch on the underside of the remaining hole and then use a body filler to fill the little remaining divit. Then, of course go through the process of sanding it and filling it again and finally have it painted to match your color. You could even relocate with one of those BMW fins to the top like you wanted. I have my Sirius antenna mounted there and it looks very sexy.

You could always replace it with the stock motorized one, then it would be hidden inside and all you see is the little *shiny* knob. lol
