help me with exhaust please!

im planning on supercharging my lude in the future, but for now i need to decide on exhaust. Ive got the general impression from previous posts that i need a mandrel bent system, with piping of no less than 2.5" or bigger. Theres lots of stuff out there, but no one seems to say whether or not their products are mandrel bent (same diameter throughout) or what size the piping is. Anyone have any good suggestions keeping in mind that Ill prolly be adding a supercharger in the future.

Im looking at the greddy evo and the apexi N1, but i dont know the specs on either of these exhasuts.

What blower?

Have you found a supercharger kit or is it a custom job?
Love to know.
Also dont go bigger than 2.5 as it will sound like a tractor. You can always by mandrel bends in 90 and 45 degrees and get someone if not yourself to weld it all up.

All the best :flash:

no name brand full cat-back manufacturer offers 2.5" exhaust system for the prelude. the only way you'll get it is a custom job. you can order pre-mandrel bent pieces online and have a muffler shop weld all the pieces together. just slap on a universal muffler (with no less than 2.5" inlet of course), a pre-muffler, or resonator, is suggested. that's the only way to do it. the N1 and evo aren't 2.5" systems.

i heard the N1 comes in two sizes, 3" or 2.5"

which may account for all the loud noise the system gives off

I thought thermal did.. You still have to modify it though..

the N1 is the closest to a 2.5", but just a tad bit smaller.

and thermal definately doesn't make one. believe me, i've researched this. thermal only has 2.25" and 3" systems.

do u know how close the N1 is to 2.5 inch? And to answer the question about the supercharger, im planning on (keyword planning) getting JRSC. If i do this, im gonna do it right and make sure i get bigger injectors, a vafc controller, high volume fuel rail, new fuel filter, colder plugs, electronic ignition system, etc. The supercharger is all "iffy" right now. Im in college so by the time I have the money to supercharge it I might need a new car . But I at least want an exhaust!

just so you know, if you get the jrsc and run at the standard 6psi, there is no need to replace the injectors or ignition system. save yourself the money. only when you increase the boost you need to bother with upgrading all that. we'll get to that when the time comes.

do keep in mind though that if you do get a 2.5" cat-back and keep it n/a, don't expect to get any gains. in fact odds are you'll see a decrease in power. particularly, a loss of low end power. with the jrsc you should go 2.5" all the way. i'd get a header with a 2.5" collector, such as the kamikaze header, 2.5" high-flow cat and the 2.5" exhaust.

just reminding you that if you seriously plan on getting the jrsc, get a 2.5" exhaust. but as long as you're n/a, i wouldn't get anything larger than 2.25". i know it'll just cost more money, but i'd just get a 2.25" cat-back for now until you actually get the jrsc, then sell the exhaust and swap in a 2.5". just a suggestion.
