Loose spark plug

My son called me the other day looking for a solution. His 95 S-10 pickup has a spark plug that will not tighten down & will eventually work it's way back out. Have been told that taping out the hole & inserting a helicoil is a good fix. Anybody have any experience with this?

Yeah just go to an autoparts store and buy either a hele coil kit or sometimes they sell them individually. This is the only way to fix it. To do the job right you really need to pull the head off, so you don't get shavings into the cylinder. If you don't fell comfortable doing the job, have someone do it or help you.
