Loose Spark Plugs = Bad???
I got my timing belt changed at toyota, drove it 1,000 miles since.
Was sputtering at idle so i checked the plugs. One of them came out without any resistance, it was loose. Can that be bad for the engine? The plug boot was black from carbon deposits. Should I go ream toyota's butt? |

The plug had a lot of carbon on it, but it was still sparking. The tapping sound that used to be in the engine got worse. but it was present before the timing belt change.

This happened to me once only I was driving when the spark plug shot out with such force it left a neat little dimple in the top of my hood and broke the spark plug cable. After a new set of cables and a new paint job (which I needed anyway) the car was as good as new but you know I always check the spark plugs now after I have it surviced! |
