Since they are both d series tranny possibly but you may want to wait for someone who has done it,before tearing your car apart.

You would be better off with the Si or EX tranny. DX would be great if you are going to be turboing.

Are you starting with a dx?If you are your going top have to wire the vtec or tap into the harness and find it.As far as the distributor I'm pretty sure you can use the dx's if you don't have the si's.I don't know for sure if the bolt patterns are the same on the sohc between vtec and non vtec. But they are the same obd.You will need the z6's ecu,it will plug right into your car.

i'm gonna wait a bit to get the si tranny. i know it's only like 400 but i want to just put it in quckly. well it depends i don't know if i'm going to get it right away or not. so i can just hook up the new motor to all of the old motor stuff like axles, shift linkage etc. etc? i now i have to get the z6 ecu or else i won't have vtec.

Yes you can use the same stuff to put it in but it is gonna be a pain to take it back out to put the si tranny in when you get it.I'd personally wait and build up the z6 and then put it in all at once. You should be able to run the motor with your ecu but don't expect spectacular results till you get the right ecu to run the z6.

very nice to know. about the direct pop in thing. do you guys know what is wrong with my tranny though it comes out of gear at low rpm without me pressing the clutch in. not by itself but you can pull it out. that's not supposed to happen right. it kind of worries me. i don't want to be left stranded anywhere or anything

No,the vx,ex,and si have the wires running to the motor. The dx and cx have them in the harness, but they end at the shock tower.

I have a S model Del Sol with the D15b7 and i'm going to swap in a D16z6. I know that i need to run wires for the VTEC but i'm unsrue of how many and which wire i need to run. I have the D16z6 engine wire harness but not the harness that goes from the shock tower to teh ECU so does anyone know what wires i need to run ? I have find out what pinout to solder them too i just need to know what wires i need to run. I know that i need to run the wire off the VTEC solenoid to pinout A4.....i think that i need to wire in a knock sensor wire to D3....adn a VTEC oil pressure wire to D6...true or not ? What all does the S model come wired for.
