Hey guys,
I am thinking about buying a somewhat built D16Y8 engine into a 96 civic dx. The motor has a bullfrog head(p&p) and cam, str fuel rail, header, big bore throttle body, ported intake manifold, and nology wires. The seller said that this setup made 140hp at the wheels. I am not looking to spend a lot of money in order to do a dohc swap, so I decided to go with this one. The problem is that is doesn't include the wiring harness (but does include the ecu). Can I use the existing harness from my old motor? If so, what will I have to do to make this work? Also, I could buy an ls swap for about the same price. Would this be a better deal? I am new to the forum, so I apologize for the newby questions. Thanks, Samuel |

if it were me, i would go ls because the ls has more potential. but if you want to know which one is faster, a stock ls or that built sohc vtec, the sohc vtec would be faster. but if you gonna turbo it later then i say go ls
