89 Teg. LS swap vs. SOHC VTEC swap

Which engine swap is easier to do, the LS non-vtec swap or the d16z SOHC VTEC swap? I would love to have a DOHC engine but also I would love to have VTEC. I don't want both though because I want to do all the work myself. So which would be more of a "drop it in and drive" swap? Would I have to any wiring for the LS engine or would I be able to do the swap by just putting the engine and tranny in my CRX and hooking all of the hoses in my engine bay back into all the correct places on the LS engine? Comments anyone?

the engine from a 89 teg LS will not fit. the mounts are the wrong spot, no one makes a mount kit for it either. You could go for a JDM ZC which is like the 89 teg ls engine but 12 more hp and does bolt in or the SOHC Vtec. Personally im going with a SOHC Vtec since ZC's cant be made legal in cali ( if i stay in cali ) plus theres more aftermarket support for it.

How hard is the swap and how time consuming would it be? My main concern is the wiring would I have to wire anything? Is this a direct drop in and can I use my DX ecu. Could I send my ecu to jet performance and have them chip it and prep it for VTEC?

you need to convert over to MPFI to do any type of good swap. DX's come with DPFI. Do a search if ya wanna learn more on that.

and no, you could not use you stock ecu.
