Help Wanted

Hey, I'm really looking for someone knowledgable at cars to give me some advice on what to buy. I have around $6000 cash and more than anything I'd like to buy something reliable and fast enough to compete with an '89 Supra Turbo (personal rivalry). Any suggestions would be well appreciated. Feel free to respond here, email me at [email protected], ICQ me at 123157266 or AOL/AIM at Animal5vs1.

Thanks,
Jeff

What's in an 89 Supra turbo? What are the specs? Simply find any car with specs to beat it, and find one in the $6000 range.

I know you'll think I'm nuts, but you can buy a 1995 Crown Vic (Reliable as you can get) for about $4000, put $1000 into porting and polishing the heads, another $1000 for a smaller Torque converter, underdrive pulleys, and you'll be pulling high 13's in the 1/4 . NOT BS. www.crownvic.org

If you can find one you could get an 89' LeBaron GTC TurboII. I bet you could get one for around 4,000 grand and already you can pull 13's in the 1/4, then put a little money into modding it some, $350 to chip it and get that turbo pumping out about 20 pounds. Some other mods and you can kick his butt, or get a 1994 Dodge Daytona Iroc with a turboIII, or maybe a twin turbo Stealth or 3000GT, but six grand is pushing it with those two.

The Corwn vic is a great idea as well.

If all you want is to beat the Supra (sounds like a waste of 6K if thats all its for), you could buy a LT1 Trans Am, put some drag radials on it and leave him in the dust.

I'd go with 87-93 5.0 Stang or late 80's GM but gotta have a 350 cuz that 305 isn't putting out the power it should. But with either you can pick up for $4000 or less and with the extra $2000 for perfoamnce parts which you prob wouldn't even need to beat that Supra you'd just make it an even sadder race for ya friend w/o a doubt

Well I say to keep up with an import you must use an import. I recemond a 1980's Datson 280ZX Turbo, or 1980"s Nessan 300ZX Turbo. Thoes would probably kill the Supra, only if you had a 5 spd though. that is a must. if you are looking for something new go with a Subru Impreza WRX Turbo, thoes are rediculiously fast. or if you want to spend 90,000 then buy a Honda/Acura NSX. good luck.[font=century gothic]well I say to keep up with an import you must use an import. find something that will compare with it like another supra or a 300zx or a 3000gt or an rx-7 with the old school rotary engine...
