Question Spoiler pricing help wanted

Attached is a picture of the exact spoiler that I want for my car. It is a Carbon Type CW Mega GT2. But from the only site that I have found it on it cost $800. Has anyone seen this spoiler elsewhere for cheaper?

Thanks so much!!!

Post Thanks

Thanks. I want this quality fiberglass made piece. Its a 13 piece mold set and I don't know if I trust Pep Boys with my car. I want to trick out my car but I want it done right so that it's doesn't get ticketed by a rice cop or something(lol).

I guess that I'll go ahead and drop the dough on it though. I am also gonna get the Kaminari Carbon Fiber Ram Air Hood to help match it and contrast the silver color of my car.

Question What performance should I expect from this Spoiler?

Yet another question from me...what performance or hinderance should I expect from this spoiler?

I hear that these spoilers only start doing their jobs a speeds about 55mph. Is that true?

Thanks and sorry for being such a newbie.

performance wise: it might hinder the performance of your car above 55. Spoilers like those are meant to produce downforce on the rear of the car for better traction, but seeing as how civics are FWD, all it does is slow you down by increasing drag.
But that spoiler does look tight though, saw it on a skyline.

Go with something that the supports are further apart on, and not so tall. Just my 2cents, but its really all about what you like.

Talking Thanks!

I love this wing because the supports are close together. It almost looks the spoiler that was on Vin Deisel's RX-7.

One more question though? Because my car is FWD would it help to put the spoiler on the front? LOL . I kill myself!!!! hahahahha

Thanks

Question How much performance downgrade?

Exactly how much will the performance of my car go down? Are we talking massive amounts of drag. Or will it make the car get too loose or too tight?

I am planning on putting a turbo on the car(and maybe a bottle in the future). Will this be enough power overcome the downforce created?

Thanks!!!

i'm goin to give you some constructive critisism. if you look at your car it dose have rims, springs, exaust, bodykit, nothing really cept some altezzas. so i think for 800 bucks you should at least get some rims, springs, and exuast before you even think about that. you could always look into some cheap body kits too. i got a buddy club rear and bomex front from my friend for 250 bucks. but for 800 bucks i think there are better choices like the rims or body kit. and once you get all that you could at least think about if you really want that wing. but it's your car and you do what you want, am just tryin to help.

Wink Long road ahead

I know exactly what you are saying. But I only got the car 3 weeks ago. So I feel that I have done pretty good so far in that little bit of time.

Its tough to add stuff to the car and make car payments on top of that. Especially when I can't work full time because I have college to tend to.

At this point, I want everything done and just no time or money to do it with. And everyone who I talk to is telling me to do something different first so I'm all confused.

LOL

Thanks for the help!

well i say forget the spoiler right now and so with some springs. then go with rims. but get cool with some of your shop owners around town. trust me you will save a whole bunch of money through hook ups. i mean i just got a strut bar for free, and my angel eye projectors for 150, just to name some. just get in good with the shop owners, they will help you out a lot, cause most of them know a pretty good deal about cars, you'll get a new friend, and maybe get a good deal every now and then.

I have a friend at the local custom sound and security shop here. But the only thing performance wise that he can do for the car is CAI.

So i'm gonna have to go in a to the local performance shop and try to make friends pretty soon.

I would really like to learn how to do all of the stuff for my car. I just don't know anyone who can show me the ropes. Also i'm afraid that I'll break my car.

Thanks for the help.

P.S. I think that the wing is gonna wait.
