Unhappy Tranny Help

Ok...i was driving earlier and when i tried to shift into 5th gear it wouldnt go up...I found out later that i dont have any reverse either. I can go through the gears, from first to fourth. then i move the shifter up and to the right...and thats it...it wont go up or down. it just stays there. please help...ASAP

Do u have a old cable tranny? Maybe something happened to the cable. It could be loose or it something like a linkage could have break
