Cheap Mods?
I'm looking for some cheap mods that I can do in my driveway that will make my 1/4 times better. I have a chevy 305 but i'm intending to put in a 350 (hence the cheap) so if there is anything that would be compatible with both engines that would be a big plus.

I haven't seen fasterthanyou for a long time but he was out resident Chevy engine expert.
I would say that your cheapest mods would be exhaust replacement, carb, gearing perhaps. I am just not sure what you have already done to your car, and I definitely don't know if the parts would be interchangeable. |

I know a little about the SBC engine, so I'll dabble here.
First off, set your goals... you want a reliable, streetable daily driver, with some good power right? I'd recommend saving your pennies and building a project motor, before dropping it in. When the 350 is on an engine stand, it's a lot easier to tune. 9:1 compression, a 400 crank in it... You should really take care picking a cam, and I don't know the SBC well enough to recommend one. You could get a good set of EFI LT1/LT4 heads and manifolds at the junker, slap on a set of headers, and you have 450 streetable hp...
