Not to be an asshole but

If you had say a 800+hp Civic about as equal torque, slicks on the front, little pizza cutters on the back. Do you think its possible to put the car in reverse and pop a wheelie with the front tires, having the rear lift up? That would be so....cool but weird at the same time.

LMAO. I'll voulenteer if anybody wants to loan me a 800+ hp Civic to do it with.

Is 800 hp even possible in a Civic? I can't say that I ever remember hearing about a Civic with that many ponies. With the exception of those guys that gut the entire car and keep nothing but the engine and the plastic body or w\e... I'm talkin' a straight Import Street Racer.

well

I was just looking through one of my friends magazines and it showed a picture of a Honda all decked out. Fiberglass body, good size slicks on the front, the skinnies on the back, and wheelie bars? Wheelie bars? That is another question I have. What is the point in having them? If you popped a wheelie without the wheelie bars in some bizarre way with the rear wheels of a Civic, the car couldn't move. It's not even possible anyways the car is front wheel drive for christ's sake so what are they on there for, looks? In turn from this question it got me thinking into completely flipping the fiberglass body around and drag racing in reverse so it looked right. But would that even work in reverse? LoL I dunno these cars confuse me.

to answer some of your questions,

yes it is very possible to milk 800 hp from a civic. Ive seen 1.6l civics with over 1100hp. Also, its conceivable to have 1000hp per cylinder, so why does 800 for 4 sound so unreasonable?

The wheelie bars i believe are for eliminating wheel hop somewhat but i am not sure. correct me if im wrong

I could definately be wrong, but I think even in a fwd car, the weight still shifts...Making wheelie bars helpful...Someone correct me if I'm wrong, I'm guessing here...

hm

I don't know I was watching import drag racing a couple weeks ago I think they called it "Pro 4 cylinder". I never really thought enough of it to pay attention to the wheelie bars though I only watched it for a few minutes. If the weight still shifts a bit and that thing tries to lift up, thats gotta suck.

maybe it's a converted rear wheel drive. Who knows...

Also, kidrocket's right. It's for eliminating bunnyhops. lol, that's a goofy word.

FYI:

On RWD drive cars, they're wheelie bars, on FWD cars, they are traction bars.

The difference is:

On high-HP RWD cars, they prevent the front-end from lifting up too much. Front-end lift puts too much of the car's power into lifting the front, rather than pushing it forward, which is detrimental to a good launch.

On FWD cars, the traction bars push against the weight-transfer, not allowing the front to lose too much traction because guess what? That's where the traction is on those cars. There are actually powered traction bars that push-down against the launch and lift up so as not to be a drag on the car's forward progress.

They are all DRAG BARS, though.

ok

Wow so there actually is a purpose in those things ok that makes sense now.

So eh again back to the first question. You think its possible to lift up the rear in reverse?

Also is that green Integra(?) yours in the sig?

Yeap, that sounds right...They keep the front wheels from losing traction when the weight transfers
