Not Win but not exactly going in the loss column either
Well, it's not often I post a thread in here, but had too much fun this past Thursday night to keep it all to myself.
As some of you may or may not know, on Thursday nights my little brother and I, plus some friends, travel about 25 miles out of town to race slot cars. Lots of good fun to be had by all, and certainly fun worth having. Well around 11ish on the trip back home on the highway, we spot a black RSX. Large wing, loud exhaust, wheels that cost more than the 1986 Dodge 600ES we were driving, and so on. Pretty good looking car I had to admit, and we'd seen it a few times before. This time, after discussing it with my little brother (whose Dodge it is and who was driving) I decided it was time to see if this RSX was for real. We pulled up alongside him and I rolled down my window and started motioning for him to open his. He looked over to see crazy-looking long-haired me in the primer grey square Dodge asking him what he's done. He says "Header, intake, basic stuff." After hearing this, I ask him if he wants to go. He looks at me funny and laughes and says "Sure" but at this point there's not particularly much room for a real run. So we cruise along for a little bit just going with traffic, making sure we're not losing track of each other, then finally after about 10 miles we get to a good empty stretch of highway. Our turbo Dodge pulls up alongside his RSX and we both punch it from about a 50mph roll (naturally we were both slowed up a little bit to stay even). I'm watching the look on his face as he downshifted on the launch and this primered brick pulls on him. We stay in front of him up until we bounce off the factory rev limiter at a little over 85mph and he goes past. Both cars slow down and we cruise to the next exit. He and I chat window to window a bit, and he's just laughing and shaking his head saying "Man you guys shut down early." We tell him "Fucking rev limiter" and laugh. We talk about what's been done to the cars, and he's shocked to learn A: that the Dodge is one of the 2.2L turbo family and B: that the car is stock. He also mentioned that he'd seen us a couple of times before and wondered why our Dodge was so loud. Cool guy and had a strong car. Afterwards Ian (my little brother) asked me - "So what all did he have done?" and I told him exhaust, header, intake and that RSX's have about 180-200hp from the factory and that he was probably making a little bit more. Ian's response. "Jesus, you let me race a car with 60 more hp than me?" All in all, good run. Next step? New computer for more boost, better spark timing, and most of all DISABLING THE REV LIMITER.

Two Words: You Rock.
But do you rock and roll... every day?... and possibly every night?

Today I smashed a spider that was building its web in her vent window, does that count as an MGB kill?
She's put up for the winter, actually. And unfortunately after having finally gotten her running and finding what was causing the power loss, another kink has been thrown into the works. The positive battery harness (the whole damn harness, from the battery under the back seat, to the cable running under the car, to the starter itself) is shot. Hence my starter quit working on me, hence I've got to wait until things have quieted down at the shop (pre-Holiday season, bullshit that's happening anytime soon) to put her up on the lift and re-run the cables. And, you know, I was kind of hoping to get to the stuff that I already knew was broken but noooooo she had to break all new stuff.

BTW, Justin, are you talkin' about the rev-limiter, or the speed governor?
