Shot through numerous oranges before but NEVER run a red.

Was pulled over once for running an orange but got off with a warning when a truck slid through the intersection where I would have been. (it was a very wet road)

I probobly ran more reds this week end than anyone here has run in thier life.
But then at 3am when you have to wait at the same set of lights at the same time everyday and your the ONLY vechile on the road you can get away with such things. I also drive down the wrong side of the road, and do U turns in places that during the day theres no way I could get away with. But then Hazard lights and an HT licence and an 8ton truck make such things a bit easier.

Well I ran my first red the about a week ago. It scared the shit out of me.

Here is what happened.

The intersection with the light was really crowded, because kids were getting out of school and going the same way. Well I waited through three cycles of lights before I finally got up to the light. Just as I did the damn thing turned yellow. Then it turned red just before I went through the interesection. As I am running the light I look over to my left and see a police officer sitting two cars back waiting to turn into my lane. I said "OH F@CK." I quickly turned into a parking lot so he couldn't see me and I saw him drive by. I guess I just got lucky that day.

I’ve only ever ran a red once and that was when I was rushing Moon to an emergency chemist on a Sunday afternoon. I sat at the damn red for so long and there were no cars coming in either direction (and hadn’t been for ages). Damn lights that have stupid phases.

Green light = go
Red light = stop
Yellow light = go like hell so you don't have to stop

I've started through a green light before it turned, but I won't go that far through an intersection until I see the green...

But one night when I lived in Missouri I ran a COMPLETELY red light, and what's more is I didn't even know it until the 8-year-old in the back seat said something about telling my aunt :o Then I looked back in the rear view and realized that he was totally right!

I have yet to run red lights on purpose...but I don't think that means that I haven't done it. My problem is that I 'll look at the cross traffic's light to figure out if it's going yellow yet...a few times I'll see green and my brain thinks it means my light is green. I'll realize my fopaux <sp?> at the least second and slam on my brakes. Living in Vegas, pushing yellows is just a common practice. I'll cetch the tail end of a yellow and watch at least 2 other cars follow me thru the intersection.
Stop signs are a different story. A lot of times I'll just slow down, but a few times I don't realize there was a stop sign till I'm all the way thru the intersection. I do that almost as much as I push the yellows.

There's one stoplight that I run almost every day. It's right by my house, and when I come home from work at 10:30 at night, I always have to wait, and it's a LONG LONG wait, and there's NO other cars around at all. Anywho, usually, I just stop, check for cars and go.

I have run a few other lights unintentionally, and usually, I just drive through them, and a passenger will be like... "Uh... You know that was a red light, right?!" Especially in Seattle, becuase, while here the lights are mounted above the intersections, there, they are mounted low on the sides (on the corners, not in between sidewalks like here).

Also, I was looking for something one day, and I came across this, thinking about doing it to my car...

http://www.horseapple.com/Valkyrie/M..._valkyrie.html

This guy attached a 150lb magnet to his motorcycle, and it trips all the stoplight sensors in the road... (Magnet only weighs 5lbs, but it has a 150lb lift ability)
