getting my b16

Tomorrow I'm going to put a down payment on a b16a for my CRX. I'm real excited. I was wondering if anyone has any advice on things i should get done with the swap. Like I've heard its good to change the timing belt. Anything else I should do? Thanks.

you could change the water pump too. if you got the money then you should buy a new clutch and put in a lighten flywheel

I would change:

Water Pump
Timing Belt
Thermostat
Cap and Rotor
Spark plugs and plug wires
Valve cover gasket and spark plug tube seals
Oil pan gasket
Alternator belt
Clutch and resurface flywheel(or buy aftermarket lightened flywheel)

There are other things you might want to replace but it all depends on how much you are looking to spend on replacing parts.

i highly agree with everything 91zc suggested. depending on how mechanically inclinded you are, you might also want to replace the head gasket.

Hey, don't knock it!

I've been making payments on my D16y8! But that's mainly cuz I don't wanna shell out all the money at once, but I don't want anyone else to come along and snag it out from under me either... It's a sweet deal.

Haha, no, there wont be like any monthly payments. I just put a down payment so that they would hold theengine. They also wanted a down payment before they get all the parts, I guess they want to make sure I'm serious.I'm getting a new water pump, timing belt, and clutch so far. Thanks for the help.

you might want to add thermostat to the list. it's generally changed at the same time as the water pump...and it's cheap to just get it and not have to worry about it in the future.
