First encounter with a cop in the civic

I got pulled over for doing 38 in a 30. Suprisingly I was given a warning. I think it was because I was pretty respectful the entire time I was pulled over. He asks me "any lawful reason you are speeding today" I say "no sir" and he asks me for all my shit and takes it back to the motorcycle. Then he gives me the warning ticket, has me sign, and tells me I better get my current proof of insurance in the car.

Other shit he could have gotten me for but he didnt mention
Clear corners / bumper lenses
Modified exhaust
Left taillight is out.

So sucks for me that he now knows my car and may look for it, but at least I didnt get a ticket.

I would say "gotta get a radar detector" but me being the only car on the road, I doubt it would have helped.

They actually pulled you over for 8mph over? He must have been bored... I thought most cops don't bother for anything under 10mph over... *shrugs*

I got a warning for going 61 in a 45 once... didn't get a warning ticket... he just let me go... I think he knew my dad or something...

I was talking to some CHP officers about mods. Clear corners and bumpers in the front are fine, as long as they have stock or amber bulbs.

I belive most police aren't smart enough to even think about looking at what color your bumper lenses are but i may be wrong. around here, i think the only thing cops would notice is if your VIN plate was missing or held on by screws or something lol.

ya but that gets spendy. there isn't much parking in my dad's condo parking lot...so i made my own space. i think i got 113 warning tickets from the rent-a-cops before i got a call from my neighbor at 6 a.m. i got scammed by the the truck driver. he told me for $100 he wouldn't hitch my car up any further. my civic was slammed and he had a regular (not flat bed) tow truck

and finally (lol) i once got pulled over for doing 100 in a 25. my friend lived on a dead end street...he had the only house on the street. i just got off work (like 11 pm) and was on my way to his house when i saw him cruising the same way. we decided to race the last street to his pad. cop pulled me over and when tony turned around they stopped him too. my car & i were searched...tony & his ride were searched. cops thought he was chasing me (hehehe). the cop actually told me "i don't believe in giving out tickets...." and then went on to say "there was a flood last week, the streets are dusty...slow down please"

every one of my civic's had MANY stories. i should write them down while i'm young...then i can laugh about the good ol' days when i'm old

Believe it or not, I've been pulled over for speeding and let go (w/no tickets) for the last 3 years on my birthday. Just last year, my friends and I were running really late for a tee time, apparently, a cop saw me from the opposite side of the freeway, turned around and tried to catch me. When he finally did, he said, " are you out of your mind, I had to drive over 100 mph just to catch up with you, do you know how fast you're going?" I replied back by saying, Sorry officer, just trying to make it to my birthday golf tournament, we're really late and if you give me a ticket now, I will definitely miss it. " He took my DL and insurance card, looked at it briefly and let me go. That would have been at least a $250 ticket...I hope I didnt bore you guys, yawn...

I'm not sure whats the maximum points allowed but we do get points too...4 or 5 i think then they revoke your license. Your line of work is taken into consideration too, lets say, if you're a cab driver or someone that drives for a living then you get a few more extra points...
