Thumbs up Help with running 20 LBS of boost on LS MOTOR...

I was wondering what all I need to get my engine ready to run up to 20 pounds of boost??? I'd appreciate it if people would add or take stuff off my list..... here goes nothing

Valves, Springs, Retainers,...
Cams
Cam Gears
Pistons n rings
Rods
cylinder sleeves???
high boost head gasket
cylinder brace???
Crank shaft????
Act Clutch what stage???
aluminum fly wheel
Axles???
cylinder walls reinforced??? something welded behind them ??
fuel pressure regulator
bigger injectors
fuel rail?
fuel pump
intake manifold???
throttle body

after all that,......

3" exhaust...
turbo (garret t3/t4 for 20 lbs)?
blow off valve
wate gate
boost controller
turbo timer
exhaust manifold
intercooler
pipes clamps n more pipes n clamps
boost guage
air fuel ratio guage

this will not be a daily driver,... money is not really an issue,... my uncle is a mechanic and he can help me out with internals and stuff like that also I'm not going to a shop I'm going to try to buy all the internals and stuff with a wholesale license to have a little something left over for turbo install......
I've reaserched stuff about tubos on the net and all i usually find out is how they work not detailed specific instructions on whats needed,....

would I be able to drive the car normally of if I swapped out internals and every thing else installed???

if you don't have the knowledge to build it yet, then don't build it yet.

Why do you think he's asking here? He is trying to get the knowledge neccesary to build it.

I'm no expert but that seems like all the parts I can think of...

if you are thinking about safety get

MOTOR>
JE low comp domed pistons
Crower forged
balanced crank
sleeves
str block guard

FUEL>
rc 550 injectors
walboro 255 lph fuel pump
venom fuel rail with pressure regulator
and a k&n fuel filter
and run hi ass octane, save them pistons.

MONITORING>
apex'i afc (finely tuned.)
hks turbo timer

DRIVELINE>
RAXLES!

that's just my opinion.... you have a good motor to be shooting all that boost through in the first place..... but all that shit will help save your ass, not to mention you'll have a strong ass motor..... all the other stuff you put will help you out performance wise.... i'd look into a quaife lsd, that's a big deal right there and a z-10 cross member.. your launches will be outta control, i think your stock valve train could be sutible.... skunk2 is producing a cam for turbo'ed DOHC VTEC motors but no ls, maybe crower or crane. has somthing in store. i hope that helped.

no need for lower compression pistons. 8.5:1 is low enough. email [email protected] he's running 20 psi on his stock block LS engine (with only blockguard as his engine modification. upgrades that i know of are hondata engine management system, custom T3/T4 turbo, 440cc fuel injectors, blockguard, and some other few little things. he runs 11.8 on the quartermile now.

ok, here's my setup....you can build something similar to this....

b18b shortblock:
JE 9.0:1 pistons .20 over
stock sleeves
RE blockguard
Eagle Rods
everyting has been balanced

b16a head:

totally stock
excpet for JG IM manifold
mustang TB

Fuel:
paxton kamikaze(or was it signature)fuel pump
customized stock fuel rail
72lbs MSD injectors
Aeromotive 1:1 FPR

engine management:
Haltech E6K customized to work with stock honda harness...

All this work was done by me, except for the haltech conversion.

I also just got a pair of DSS stage 3 axles with hubs
