How fast is the Evo 7 to be exact?

I hear that the Evo 7 goes from 0-60mph in 5.4 secs but I have also seen it do that in 4.4 seconds? So exactly how fast is the Evolution 7?
I am interested in purchasing one in Malaysia but it will cost me about US dollars 80k. It is about 260k in Malaysian Ringgit. Yes thats how much they cost in this lame country. I used to live in Los Angeles for 24 years but now I live and work in Kuala Lumpur. Tax is high here because this lame country want you to buy local made cars thats why they increase import car prices so high, but at least they have the EVO VII. I know it sucks but what to do? hehe

The problem with these figures is that they are dependend on who tested it, the condition of the car and wheather conditions. I heard reports from NZ that 4.4 can be achieved with the car straight out of the box. I also heard figures above 5 seconds.

Same was with the EVO VI. A friend of mine bought one that had been standing in a garage for over a year. Best he could get was 5.3 sec. Now after his holiday where he drove the car for several 1,000 km he re-tested: 4.7 sec.

I only know one thing these cars are bloody quick. The only thing is they don't feel that quick. Before you know it you're hitting 100 km/h and it's still pretty much silent. Esp. if you compare it to the noise levels of a WRX.

Conditions are a critical thing. I remember in a post saying that the Given figures cannot be always correct. The conditions play a big part in the timing process.

Obviously the results are going to be different if tested on a Dry Race track and a wet race track.

It also depends on the type on Petrol used. Some use Hi-performance petrol while some others use normal petrol mixed in with some performance enhancing petrol.

Both Evo VI and VII have figures of 5.4 and below. So thats still very quick.

yeah of course it is. Also depends on the driver, You wont get a 4.4 second run on your first go, you'll need to get used to the car for a while, then hit it!

i think lancerz is right...it depends on the driver itself...i saw this video about a sprint test...in that video a more powerful car was beaten by a less powerful car because of the driver's skill...rhis means that driver is important in speeding a car

He prolly just broke the engine in. After you drive the car a while the engine gets "used" to being driven and improves in efficiency. Hence the faster acceleration.

Yeah, but then again I have much difficulty staying ahead of tuned (chipped) Impreza turbo's. Even now that the egine should be broken in somewhat (2,500 km trip to the suisse alps, using German autobahns and a circuit day).

So I'll probably get a PE remap. Told me that it would help me getting 330 HP and 440 Nm torque and allow me to run up to 1.3 bar of boost with a peak to 1.4 bar.
