How fast are these cars exactly out of the box?

I was talking to someone on a different board that was saying "200 horsepower Preludes are a joke, I beat them in my SHO all of the time."

The guy sounds like a flamer, but in all honesty, could a prelude take a SHO stock for stock in the 1320?

LOL no not the game Nitto 1320 he's talking about the 1/4 mile. And yes I do hear they are fast, but I'm pretty confident a Prelude Type SH can take one stock for stock, but it could be a driver's race.

Technically, a base model 5th gen Prelude is faster. Its about 90 lbs lighter. It not much of a difference, but if the drivers are the same the base should win.

No, theres no "Honda SHO". I just didnt know that a Ford SHO had that kind of potential to stand up to a Prelude?? weird.

But to answer your question, Preludes run like 15.2 in the 1/4 mile.

Yeah, I know ther is no Honda SHO... at least no in America.

But still, can the Ford Taurus SHO(the fastest mode/yearl) take a Prelude(the fastest model/year) stock for stock?

They both run low 15s stock so it would all be drivers race. And if the driver's are equal let's hope our VTEC can help the lude pull on it.

Its not like Preludes are exactly a beast to begin with. 15's are nothing to run home to mom about.

Re: How fast are these cars exactly out of the box?

granted a low 15 is nothing great in the grand scheme of things, for a naturally aspirated stock 4 cylinder engine, it's pretty damn good. Don't know of many others that can do that besides the RSX type S and the S2000.

Re: How fast are these cars exactly out of the box?

Yeah I know, I meant to say low 15's or high 14's, in the S2000's case mid 14 I believe. You're right though, good call.
