Finally had enough

Well, I've had my 17 inch heavy ass Motegi MR7's on my 94ex Civic for about a year now, I've gotten the bigger is better out of my system and am really tired of the crappy ride. Im going to be swapping the engine in 2 weeks, and I figured if I'm going to go for performance the 17 inch lead weights need to go also, plus Im sick and tired of worrying about bending them.

Anyone considering getting 17 inch rims for a civic like I did please take the following into consideration. I regret getting them after having them for a year.

-Constant paranoia of pot holes and the like since you have to put 40 series tires on them they are really susceptible to damage
-Awful bumby ride (some call this good road feel, but I beg to differ as your brains are being jiggled out of your head)
-Rub over every bump if you have more then yourself in the car and have it lowered lowered more then 1 inch.
-Poor tire life comparing to higher series tires
-Decreased performance and handling, especially if you get heavy ass 17's
-Decreased fuel mileage

THe one thing postive about them is they look really nice, and the cornering performance improved over the stock steelies and meat.

I've decided to take a big decrease and get some lightweight 15's with 50 series tires, Im thinking About the black Spoon Knock Off's Rota makes, anyone else have any suggestions for lightweight 15's that don't cost more then 150.00 each ?

Im going to be selling my 17 inch motegi mr7's good tread on 3 tires, the fourth one is a bit worn on the inside due to camber, not sure what to ask for them they are in good condition.

i found the light too!

man you guys just don't know how pissed of i am right now. i just got done succesfully bending my 4th and final rim. i have 17s and i bent 2 rims in two weeks after lowering my car around 2 inches. it rubs like a bitch and i just hate it! it rides horribly and you're right, i can't stand looking out for pot holes all the time. i'm just soooo in love with the look of the 17s, but it's just not worth it anymore, my tires are gone, my camber is off, all 4 rims are bent, and i'm pissed! so yeah i'm gonna move down to 16s. does anyone know, when i move down to 16s will my camber come back out a little bit? or will i still need a camber kit? and with 16s and the normal tire that goes with it, will it bend as easily as my 17s on 205/40/17s? i mean just give me some words of encouragement here telling me that 16s don't look too bad and they won't bend. i mean i'm so frustrated i'm ready to sell this damn car! not worth the problems any more!
