Angry Finally had enough!!!

Well folks, y'all may consider this a sin but i'm gonna trade off the Blazer.
When I bought this truck I thought I was getting a good deal. It even felt that way for about 3 months. Then The trouble started. Since May I have put over $700.00 in parts into this truck and it still screams for more. I finally talked my wife into selling this money-pit and i'm gonna buy a Honda Element EX. A warrenty, I ain't never had one of those and good gas mpg to. If anyone is interested in my belt squeakin', abs pulsin' lights commin' on at strange times, gas guzzlin' beast PM or Email me.

Re: Finally had enough!!!

Hmmm, that sounds tempting.
Buy another lemon.... I think that I'll pass.

Too bad about your truck problems. I can't say that I balame you for wanting to sell it though.

Probably won't get any serious response on this board though and it might be a good trade in in this case.

My Blazer was a lemon to the former owners, but after 2 - 3 thousand canadian and lots of time working on it it's reliable now.
They didn't even change the oil on it.

Good Luck with the Element, and I hope that the 2006 models look better than the older models.
If not do yourself a favor and get it painted 1 solid color. (To me they look like they have several replacement panels that haven't been painted)

I'm not gonna try and sell it to anyone I know or anyone here on the board. I like y'all to much for that. If someone wanted to spend the time and money on it, it would be a good truck. I just don't have the time or energy to spend on it. When it was first bought, it was a fun truck but the longer I own it, the more I hate it. I'll still hang on the boards but I just won't have the Blazer.

Re: Finally had enough!!!

Riceburner huh , I understand the dependable need . I bought my 89 Blazer with lots of little problems . But it was for for off road use mainly , so I spent time and money building it into the suv I wanted it to be . And tinkering on it is a favorite pastime . With the evening news last night . It seems GM is going to have alot of job losses coming soon . If they would have built in some reliability you would not be jumping ship and they would not be in this situation. Rob

Run out of Acronym translations ? (This is quite short compared to Ford).

I'm thinking about buying an Oldsmobile. How about some meaningful interpretations?

Hey Redneck, I like your thinking, i just traded in my 2000 Blazer for a 2005 Explorer with a warranty, something I never had before, Because I too just bought my blazer in April and since had put $700-800 into it, and mine only had 62,000 miles when I bought it. Besides I just heard on the news this morning, that GM cut around 30,000 jobs, and the person that was doing the investingating said that Gm needs to start building better cars (like ones that dont need ball joints and wheels bearing every time you turn your head) So good luck Redneck, im sure you probably wont have as much trouble with the Honda as you did your blazer! And if you do, its covered under warranty!!!

I traded off a '92 Ford Explorer XLT 4X4 for the Blazer and a '90 F-150 4X4 for the Explorer and an '86 Ranger for the F-150. I decided after the Explorer that I would never have another Ford. I have this great gift of buying vehicles just before they die. Each of the three Fords cost me an average of $400.00 a year in parts. As for an offroad vehicle, as soon as I find a steering column for the Ramcharger it will be ready to run.

Re: Finally had enough!!!

You gotta take into account that Blazers are dirt cheap to buy when you really look at what you get. So what if you spend $800/yr on parts. If you keep it for 4-5 years you will come out $$ ahead.
How do you come out ahead paying $500/month for something newer? If you can do a few repairs a Blazer is a very good investment.
