What does this word mean to you?

"fanny"

Let me explain.

My wife works in retail. Where she works, they sell "fanny packs." Recently, someone made the decision that they would be called "waist packs," beacuse the word "fanny" is offensive to people from certain countries/cultures. She said she thought they were talking about Australians. I know we've got some NZers around, so I figured they might be able to explain what their neighbors are doing...

Well, in the Oxford dictionary, "Fanny" means female genitals. So "fanny" will upset a few i guess.

It depends where you come from but i dont see any problem with the word, but i guess in todays world some people have nothing better, then to worry about the name of same "fanny packs".

As for the Aussie's...well i think a lot of in-breeding goes on in that country !!!..lol..j/k

Really?!? I always thought it meant butt! That's a surprise! It makes sense why they're called "fanny packs," LOL!

Fanny used to be a Naughty word, you got in trouble for saying it in school. In fact I think its only in North america that it means buttocks.
But sadly thanks to a certain T.V show, namly the Nanny the term Fanny is took to mean either, depending on the context of the coversation and how much TV you watch. :licker:

There's this kid in my School who where's a fanny pack and threatens to stab you with his Epipen if you touch it. It now makes more sense cause people usually where it on the front.

Thats odd, it makes me think of old people. I've had a few run ins with the grandparents and they'd be like "clean your room or i'll spank your fanny" they use alot of other strange ass words, christ i can remember my grandma asking me if i had to go doodie. But the only word that will always stick with me till the day i die that just cracks a smile on my face is tinkle. who the hell says tinkle??
