what does this code mean?
P1144 Air Assist Control Valve Circuit Malfunction. How can I resolve this code that my 1997 Escort LX Wagon is giving? Engine seems to run ok I just need to get the car inspected. This needs to be resovled first. Any help would be appreciated.

You should list your make and model here as well. so far, I think this is an emmisions related problem, and it could be a thermostatic vaccume switch that needs replacement...
Are you positive there are no subtle noises or diveability problems like detonation??
